Purification and Recharging
There are different times when purification must be done:
- On receiving the stone: we don't know who touched it before.
- After use: After using your stones or from time to time if you wear them on a daily basis.
There are different reasons to purify your stones:
- Minerals in the environment, as well as those we wear, gradually absorb harmful energies. They therefore need to be purified and recharged. It's up to you to know when they need it.

Purification
It's very important to cleanse and purify your stones to eliminate subsequent vibrations and restore them to their natural, neutral vibration.
- Water purification
This technique is both simple and effective. After using your stones, or from time to time if you wear them on a daily basis, the most usual method is to immerse them in water (tap water if not too hard, otherwise spring water), the purification should be brief. Dry gently with a soft cloth and proceed immediately to reload.
- Burying the stones
This technique is recommended for stones and crystals in need of deep purification. To do this, find an area of earth charged with energy (by instinct) and bury your stone for a night or more.
This method also allows you to recharge your stone. The stone returns to its original element, allowing it to recharge with minerals.
- Salt purification
There are several techniques for purifying your stones with salt. I recommend placing your stones directly on a pile of salt to absorb negative energies.
Not all stones can withstand this type of purification! It depends on their chemical composition.
- Purification by fumigation
This is a gentle technique to be used on regularly purified stones. It involves passing the crystals through the smoke given off by incense, sandalwood or Armenian paper.
- Vibrational purification
The vibrations also have the ability to scare away harmful energies. To purify your stone, place it in a Tibetan bowl and let it sing. This method is highly effective and fast, but also relaxing for the person performing it.

Reloading
Over time, stones absorb negative energies. It is therefore important to recharge them with new energies.
- Recharging with light
This is the most common approach. To recharge them, you can leave them overnight, exposed to moonlight. You can also recharge the stones for a few hours under the sun's rays. The result is a recharged stone ready to deliver its virtues.
- Wave recharging
This technique is extremely simple. It is a highly effective way of recharging minerals and ridding certain objects of negative vibes. Simply place your stones in a scallop shell in the evening. The chemical composition and shape of the shell will recharge your stones.
- Quartz recharging
Simply place your stones on a quartz cluster for a day, and they will recharge properly. Another variation is to place your stones on an amethyst geode.
- Recharging with firelight
This method is rarely used. Some stones appreciate the light of flames. Examples include Fire Opal and Obsidian. For fire recharging, simply place your mineral in front of an open fire or candle and let the flame do its work.
